Artist - Portrait Painter - Print Maker
I am a London based figurative artist, portrait painter & print maker, working from my studio in Notting Hill.
From my earliest memories I have always drawn, and my subjects were almost always of people.
My art today stems from this lifelong fascination, I record moments caught in time, my reference & inspiration is from real life encounters & from people around me. Although I often work from photos, I do not strive to create a photo likeness, but to capture the 'essence'of the subject.
My artistic education was gained at Kingston College of Art where I studied Fine Art & Ceramics, & I was fortunate to be tutored on many occasions by the visiting british artist Keith Vaughan.
I have now reached an age where there is a lot more time behind me than in front, & during a large chunk of my life, other things took precedence over my passion for art. Having taken a conscious decision to return to what I love & do best, last year I produced a solo exhibition of my work, shown at The Ice House Gallery, Holland Park, London. in May/June 2016 'Encounters' A curious collection of strangers.
It proved to be a positive & successful experience, with great feedback & sales.
More recently & it is with great excitement & pride to announce a forthcoming book publication coming out in April 2017, PORTRAIT REVOLUTION there are over 450 portraits created by 200 selected International Artists from around the world.
And I have been selected to be one of 15 featured artists in this publication, moreover one of my portraits has been selected for the front cover of the US edition.
I have provided here in my website a link to all the information about this publication, together with information as to where to purchase copies.
